Both the Loch Garman Senior and Youth bands are rehearsing diligently for a busy December and Christmas season.
Now in its fifth year the Loch Garman Youth Band is scheduled to take part in the 'Cracker for Crumlin' at the Clayton Whites Hotel on Sunday afternoon 10th December, where they will join other instrumentalists and singers to provide live music. Also at the event there will be an opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with story time, a craft fair and much more. All in aid of the Crumlin Children's Hospital.
Later in the run-up to Christmas Eve the LGYB hope to lend moral support to Canon Arthur Minion and Rev. Aodhan Marken's Annual Christmas Fast by performing carols and Christmas tunes outside St. Iberius Church.
For the Loch Garman Senior Band having recently celebrated its 80th anniversary with a concert in aid of MRI Now! it will take part in two Christmas concerts this month. Both concerts will take place in Rowe St. Church.
Firstly on Thursday evening 14th December the Band will perform with Rowe St. Choir under its conductor and Wexford Festival Chairman Ger Lawlor and similarly on Thursday 21st December as part of the St. Peters College Past Pupils Union annual Christmas concert which fundraises for a local charity. The Band will present contrasting programmes of seasonal music and festive favourites for both performances.
